4 January 2011

Today we woke up early (and by that I mean before 8 o'clock) and caught the 8.20AM ferry to Circular Quay. We met up with my friend Kirsten and had breakfast at a place I'd been dying to visit - Pancakes on the Rocks. The pancakes were, I'll admit, were a bit of let down but the lady who served us had multi-coloured hair so that made up for it.

We went to the Royal Botanic Gardens after that to lie on the grass and laugh at each other. When we got hungry we went in search of some seafood (because we'd spent nearly a week in Sydney an never a piece of calamari our lips did touch).

But really, the whole purpose of today was to CLIMB THE SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE! We sported sexy grey body suits and running shoes and off we went. Our guide was annoying. We think he thought we were lesbian. But, then again, Harriet did ask if we should kiss for the photos so that might have had something to do with it. The climb was awesome and we got some great photos. Definitely another tick on the ol' bucket list.

Tonight we went to Penny's house for dinner. Beef strogonoff followed by ice-cream. I'm so glad that Harri has been able to meet all of my friends. Now she'll know what I'm talking about when we Skype.

3 January 2010

After our "girls night out" last night we took this morning at a slower than average pace, and headed from Manly to Sydney with the intention of going to MCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) and Paddy's Markets.

We arrived and got straight in line to see the Annie Liebowitz exhibition, 192 photographs- absolutely AMAZING, and I'm pretty sure that that's one to cross off on the bucket list. Lanni can now die a happy woman:)

We then met Kirsten for some lunch at the new Westfield shopping centre, which was lovely. unfortunately we had run out of time to head to Paddy's Markets (we'll try again next week) and instead opted to go see Hyde Park and the Cathedral.

We then needed to make our way back to the ferry, once again, erm, Allani's sense of direction proved to be just about as good as it usually is:)

We finally managed to get back to Manly, and got Italian takeout and went to hang out at Harry's place.

Bed early, tomorrows a big day:D

2 January 2011

Today we walked via the weekend markets to breakfast at my mom's favourite restaurant in Manly, Watervue Cafe. Penny, Jonathan and Harry joined us and when we finished Penny came with us to the cave I'd visited during O week.

We spent the afternoon on the beach and at around four o'clock we went back to the apartment to prepare for the evening ahead.

Tonight we went to see a show at an Opera House. Love, Loss and What I Wore, was a show featuring five women who discuss their lives by remembering their clothes. It was an incredibly funny show, we laughed a lot.

New Years Day

Today we woke up and went to Harry's house to see the recovering drunkeds, got bored with them very quickly and made our way to Manly beach.

Jonathan then joined us there with his retarded fan hat, pictures to follow:)

The three of us jumped on the ferry with the intention of going to see Bondi Beach, we ended up going to visit Penny at David Jones, it's like a high end department store, very shmance. We waited for her to get off, and went back to her place for a bit and then made our way back to manly.

New Years Eve

Today we woke up pretty late after our very late night last night. We met up with my friends, Harry and Ben, on the beach.

After that, I took Harri to the place that I used to work at, Max Brenner Chocolate Bar. She met my token Asians and we ate some chocolate. It was lovely.

That night we went to an event at Taronga Zoo. I wore a pretty dress and she wore a pretty jump suit and we both wore heels. I may have tripped and British people may have laughed at me.

The view of the Sydney Harbour was amazing and the fireworks were great. We ate fantastic food, drank way to much and enjoyed golden oldy tunes. Definitely a tick on the ol' bucket list.

After that we went over to my friends', Harry and Sheridan's house, to wish happies to the rest of the gang. We only stayed for about half an hour but Harry got to meet other significant people in my life.

It was a fabulous night.

Thursday, 30th December 2010

Thursday morning Allanah woke early and waddled off to Coles to get me some breakfast.

Raisin Bread n. hot crossed bun in a breadloaf form.

Allanah then forced me to climb the biggest god-damn mountain, to see her Uni, which resembles Hogwarts. Very pretty indeed, so were my legs after the climb:)

(Allanah and I are currently rolling around in hysterics on Harry's floor- balcony moment)

We then went on a mission to find Harry's flat, with me being super-tourist and Allanah's not so keen sense of direction, it didn't go down so well. Eventually we found him and his place, finally Allanah got to introduce Harry to Harri.

That night we went off to a restaurant-Hugo's, to meet the rest of Allanah's friends: Jonathan, Ben, Penny and Kirsten. Had cocktails and a bite to eat and then went off to Harrys house for the evening. Jonathan, Penny, Allanah and I were kicked out at about 1 in the morning, and went to the beach, where we had two weirdo aussie/south-african (apparently) rustas come talk to us at 3 in the morning about how South Africa and how much better it was run during the apartheid, utter stupidity, and I made sure that they knew it.

She Arrived! Safe and Sound!

So, at twenty to ten last night, Harri's plane arrived!! We cried. I wasn't expecting that but, knowing us, I probably should have! When we got back to the house, we talked until 2am, at least. It was awesome.
Today the weather is wonderful so we'll beach it up and I'll show her my uni.

I'm so glad she's here at last. Time to make some memories!
